Nitto Australia is pleased to announce that we will sponsor the 2019 Knox Sport and Leisure Awards, an event that recognises and rewards the dedicated and hardworking volunteers within Knox Council’s local sport and leisure clubs.
Nitto Australia is a strong advocate of the Knox Sport and Leisure Awards, as we appreciate the unsung heroes that work behind the scenes to ensure sporting events go off without a hitch and provide players with the support they need on and off fields of play.
Nitto started 100 years ago, in 1918 and has been operating in Australia since the mid-80s where, just like Knox’s hardworking volunteers, Nitto Australia too have worked in the background supplying many industries with innovative solutions and support to our customers.
The event is part of our CSR initiative that involves utilising our products’ reach to raise awareness of important issues and highlight good causes. We will engage local communities around Australia by launching two new sports campaigns; Armbands for Causes, an initiative born out of sports players choosing to use Nitto’s tape as armbands during matches and NTape, a kinesiology tape that we will launch into the Australian market in 2019. Nitto was one of the first companies to develop kinesiology tape and is now launching the NTape brand with the product’s STRATAGEL technology, an adhesive that is gentler on the skin when the tape is applied and upon removal.
The Armbands for Causes initiative will provide AFL, Netball, Rugby and many other sports teams with a discounted rate for tape in a range of colours to allow players to honour and show support for loved ones, without paying a premium rate. We will launch the initiative at the awards and provide a discount code to any sports clubs that wishes to wear Nitto tape during matches.
Our Sales and Marketing Director, Ben Mitchell said: “The decision to sponsor the event was a natural progression for us, as for many years our customers have been using our black PVC tape as commemorative armbands during sporting matches to honour loved ones that have passed on. As well as our 2018 campaign, where we partnered with the McGrath Foundation and turned backyard cricket pink by releasing the same tape in the charity’s famous pink colour."
Following the event, we will be launching a community focussed campaign supporting sports clubs and players in Australia. This will include running a competition, where a lucky sports club could win a prize bundle pack filled with sports kit and engaging local athletes to become brand ambassadors for NTape.
We are looking forward to meeting the volunteers being celebrated at the Knox Sport and Leisure Awards and learning about their outstanding contribution to the community which has given Nitto so much since we arrived in Knox Council in 2017.
